| What: | Yahoo! Autos New Cars redesign |
| When: | 2002-03 |
| Roles: | Strategic direction, information architecture, interaction design |
When Yahoo! Autos acquired thousands of new car data points (specs, features, options, photos, rebates, etc.), I redesigned the new cars site architecture to facilitate a helpful, uncomplicated user experience. I iterated on layouts and created paper prototypes to test in a usability lab with participants. We compared the new tabbed interface to competitors' left-nav lists and the tabbed approach was favored the most. The following year, two competitors released tabbed views.
Note: During the 2004 redesign, the external design agency chose to revert to a left-nav list interface.
