Roles:Strategic input, interaction design, visual design

Autos released a site search in two phases: the first as a standard paginated list of results, the second as contextually grouped results. The goal was to provide a better search experience for users. After launching the standard search, I helped analyze search terms to determine what information groupings would best deliver a high quality experience for the majority of queries. With very distinct types of information on the site, Autos was able to divide results into five possible groups: New Cars, Used Cars, Pictures/Videos, Ratings/Reviews, and Other Services.

I produced a high-fidelity prototype for an iterative usability test, which confirmed the usefulness of grouped results and led us to the final released design.
